In the Greater Montréal area, the ministère des Affaires municipales, du Sport et du Loisir oversees the Politique de soutien au développement local et régional du gouvernement du Québec.

The department provides funding for local development centres, including CDECs recognized as local development centres, and through them makes available business assistance funds. Its initiatives foster:
·> assistance for young promoters;
·> the development of enterprises in the social economy;
·> the start-up and consolidation of businesses through the local investment fund.

In partnership with the CDEC Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, the ministère des Affaires municipales, du Sport et du Loisir is making available to the local community the means of promoting economic development and job creation, bearing in mind the community’s objectives and priorities

Economic Development Canada

The partnership between Economic Development Canada (DEC) and CDEC makes it possible to effectively address the needs of various sectors of economic activity in the Côte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough. This collaboration, in concert with local partners, allows for the implementation of initiatives that support the development of the district.

Association with DEC emphasizes job creation, looks towards the future, and, through encouragement of entrepreneurship at the local level ensures thta communities such as Côte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce can continue to act as catalysts to development.

Employment Québec
The CDEC CDN/NDG is an important partner in Employment Quebec's mission of combating unemployment and exclusion in the borough. To that end, the CLE works with the CDEC in several areas, including the following:
·> Joint action with the borough's employability consultation committee, a committee dedicated to carrying out initiatives with our partners in the fight against unemployment and exclusion;
·
> Start-up of innovative projects to assist in integrating our fellow unemployed citizens into the labour market, through the Local Initiatives Fund (FIL);
·
> Development of local entrepreurship through the Self-Employment Assistance program;
·
> Start-up of value added social economy projects for the community;
·
> Assistance to our companies in management of their human resources;
·
> Realization of a local employment action plan (PAL) and the local economic and employment action plan (PLAÉE)

The City of Montreal

As descibed in the City Contract, the City of Montreal agrees on behalf of the boroughs to support the CDECs in the following ways :
·> Sign, in accordance with article 12 of the Act respecting the Ministère des Régions, a management contract with the Department and CLDs other than the CDECs accredited as CLDs, outlining results objectives and accounting methods.
·> Financially support the operation of the former Ville de Montreal’s CLDs to the amount of $880 000 per year.
·> Encourage cooperation among local development centres and municipal economic development departments and the boroughs to promote the development of businesses and entrepreneurship in the City.
·> Ensure that the entrpreneurship support services provided for in the Act respecting the Ministere des Regions are available throughout the entire City. In this regard, suggest to the Minister the best way to organise these services in those areas not served by community economic development corporations and economic development corporations accredited as CLDs.
