In
her role as a member of the Table de concertation
sur l’accueil et l’adaptation des immigrants
de CDN, the CDEC publishes a quarterly listing
of French courses available to immigrants in the borough
which is distributed to some 50 community organizations.
The
relatively new Comité des partenaires
brings together such partners as the City of Montreal, the
Carrefour du Sud (MRCI), the CDEC, and the CLE. Members
are mandated to analyse employment issues specifically as
they affect new immigrants.
The
Plan d’action local des entreprises et de
l’employabilité (or PALEE, formerly
known as the PLACEE) is a strategic planning document produced
by the CDEC, as per its mandate as CLD. The PALEE proposes
to the Local Employment Centre (CLE) strategic axes and
goals related to the development of the labour market in
CDN/NDG. For the chapter of the PALEE on local manpower,
CDEC carries out an analysis of socioeconomic data and proposes
activities that encourage exploration and polling of local
groups in order to determine recommendations reflecting
the local reality.
