MISSION

« The Pleiades » » is a real-world network for businesswomen in CDN-NDG with a mission to promote women entrepreneurs in the borough and to raise their awareness about new technologies, while encouraging contact, sharing information and promoting collaboration.

HISTORY

Initiated by a desire to support businesswomen in the Côte-des-Neiges / Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough, the Pleiades web site was launched on International Women's Day in March 2001 thanks to the financial support of Economic Development Canada.

This web site was created by Io Média, a young web design firm. The site is dynamic and ergonomic, after the style of women in the borough, and illustrates the professionalism, the quality and the diversity of our local entrepreneurs.

TO DISCOVER

News
A section is dedicated to the Pleiades of the month, featuring a particularly distinguished woman entrepreneur or an activity that reflects the theme of the month. This section helps put local products and services front and centre.

Bulletin board
This is a reserved space for women who want to regularly showcase their services and products (for example a product launch, a sale, etc.).

Flash Info
On a monthly basis, this section announces upcoming conferences and activities, as well as events that may be of interest to local entrepreneurs.

What’s New
A section highlighting resources available to entrepreneurs and exploring topical issues.

Businesswomen’s Directory
Seven sections on the entrepreneurs’ activities with access to their profiles and a description of their respective businesses.

Information on the Borough
Including a map, sociodemographics, etc, this section was put together in order to allow district non-residents and residents to discover the CDN/NDG borough.

Newsletter
Visitors eager to be informed of site news on a regular basis can subscribe to the newsletter. It’s a simple way to stay in the loop.

Forum
An exchange of ideas, resources and information, as well as ongoing discussions of pertinent issues.

MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES

The Pleiades group organizes regular get-togethers for women entrepreneurs of the borough to discuss issues of specific interest to them. In addition to regular meetings, the CDEC also organises 5 à 7 networking events, and will soon be offering training workshops.
