The CDEC initiated and animates sessions of a Working Group on the Commercialization of University Research, an effort which brings together partners from the private sector, municipal and provincial governments and local institutions.

Research undertaken in the past few years has helped to evaluate and discern the risks related to the development of the information technology sector as well as health and biotechnology sector. The Working Group has also supported the development of the Cité scientifique, an area behind the Montreal Hippodrome devoted to this research.
