The CDEC supports a number of community development projects. For example, in 2003, the CDEC is helping to organise a street festival in Cote-des-neiges.

CÔTES-DES-NEIGES CELEBRATES : 5 CONTINENTS, 5 SENSES

The CDEC participated in organising a business showcase and street festival called "Cote-des-Neiges Celebrates : 5 Continents, 5 Senses".

The event focussed on music, danse and visual arts, as well as on the history of the neighbourhood. The event included street animation and information kiosks put together by local community groups.

Businesses along Cote-des-Neiges Road sold goods on the sidewalk, restaurants served food outdoors, artists demonstrated their savoir faire and community groups presented their activities outdoors.

This initiative represents a massive collective effort to celebrate the Cote-des-Neiges neighbourhood.

The 2003 festival took place on Sunday, September 7th from 11am to 5pm and the sidewalk sale from the 7th of September to the 13th. Events unfolded over the entire length of Cote-des-Neiges Road, from Queen Mary Road to Jean Talon Boulevard.
